Chick-fil-A is the place that we eat at most often when we eat out. Lydia recognizes the sign and building and will let us know if we drive past one. This happened for the first time last fall. Anyway, today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A. This is a once a year event. All the people who dress like a cow from head to toe are given a free meal. So, you know what we did, don't you? That's right! We made like cows! Some of those costumes we use in our living nativity each year really made this an easy thing to do. See for yourself!

Oh! The manager who checked me out also gave me a free bag filled with coupons and samples that the store will be giving away on Saturday. That was a nice little surprise. The coupons are not store coupons, so can be used anywhere. That makes it an even better surprise!

For a while now, I've been thinking about beginning a blog. I've learned so much from http://moneysavingmom.com/ that I wanted a way to keep track of my spending and savings. It's been exciting over the last few weeks to see just how much I can get for so little at CVS! Walgreens isn't as exciting for me as they don't offer as much "play money" in the form of Register Rewards and I have to wait for the rebate check to arrive in the mail. I've even been able to get a few good deals at Food World. When I have trips to Birmingham for medical reasons, I check the Publix sale ads the day before and plan what to shop for while there to take advantage of being so close to a Publix, since we don't have one near here. It's been easy to avoid Walmart and surprising to see just how much Walmart wasn't saving us! Walmart is "the low price leader"? Not really!
